yes. i just got over it myself. You need to go to your doctor immediately so that they may test for strep and then give you medication for it. The longer it goes on the more harmful it is for the baby. Don't take OTC meds bcus you can only really take tylenol without harming the baby. The doctor would know better than anyone on Yahoo answers does. Be safe.

Strep throat is very dangerous, pregnant or not. Untreated, it can become Scarlet Fever (which kills).

Go to your doctor IMMEDIATELY if you think you have strep.

Scarlatina is an exotoxin-mediated disease caused by Group A streptococcal infection that occurs most often in association with a sore throat and rarely with impetigo or other streptococcal infections. It is characterized by sore throats, fever and a rash over the upper body that may spread to cover almost the entire body. Scarlet fever is not rheumatic fever. Rheumatic fever is the autoimmune disease that occurs after infection with Group A strep that causes damage to the heart valves.

The only way to really test for strep throat is go to the doctor. He will run a swab along the back of your throat and check it for strep.

If you are pregnant your baby can have the same thing. My daughter was born with it. If you are close to giving birth get treated. t can cause blindness or worse. Get antibiotics. I had it and gave birth 3 days after being on antibiotics. She was positive but, luckily the antibiotic took care of it and she was ok. She had to stay in Hospital 3 days after I went home though. So, if you are close get to the ER or DR. soon. They can do a test, that's the only way to tell.

It isn't harmful to the baby unless you are taking antibiotics you shouldn't be taking. Make sure you check out any over and under the counter drugs with the doctor or midwife.
