oh my god that is so exciting! you can either stay on your feet and let gravity do its job,and bring your baby down more.or you could go to bed and hope something happens during the night,or you could cross your legs for a xmas day baby.whatever happens good luck and hope your baby is with you soon.might be best to sleep to keep your energy levels up though, you certainly dont want to be too tired to push.

I had contractions for two days before my first child was born. The two things that will help speed it up the most are walking and marital relations. If your contractions keep up like this for a while still be sure to go to the hospital or doctor once a day to check on the baby, after two days they finally induced me as the contractions were starting to effect the baby, don't worry though everything will be okay. I wish you good luck and a smooth labor.

I would vacume the whole house including your bedroom and wake that hubby up of yours!!!! you have not gone through everything you have the past 9 months for you to do it all by yourself, do some housework, have a bath, think about giving birth that might shock your body into getting it all over and done with.
Good luck soon you will have a little bundle of joy in your arms, and WOW that is a present that santa could never bring you x x

Do you have stairs in your home? If so walking up and down them can help pull the baby down into your pelvis further because of the gravity. Or you could go wake your husband up for some lovin. It will be uncomfortable but it could work. Try having sex from behind and a little rough, but not too rough. The semen helps soften your cervix, making it easier for you to dilate and if you can manage to have an orgasm, that will also cause your uterus to contract. Sex sent me into labor with all three of my children. Hopefully, it can speed yours up as well. Good luck and congrats on the baby!!
P.S. Someone up there suggested Castor Oil. DO NOT use this method. Castor oil is a laxitive(says so right on the bottle) and it could cause your baby to have a bowel movement inside the womb. If this happens, the baby could swallow the feces and it can get into their lungs, which can cause severe health problems and even death. Please dont do this. You WILL have your baby soon enough.

Oh bless you honey my contractions started at 3.00 am I went to the hospital at 09.00 am and they sent me home again! I sat at home until 09.30 that night then was taken in baby born 5.17 the following morning. I found that walking around helped, sitting in a warm bath (providing your waters haven't already broken) and some light antenatal exercises, don't know how effective it was at bringing on the labour but it did take my mind off things slightly and ease the pains. Good Luck x

As much as it will hurt when you have a contraction, you must move around and let gravity assist labor. However, if more than twenty hours go by and there is no progress, you will need to go to a hospital to find out if you need a C-section.

Try walking like a lot of people have said, and also make sure your contractions aren't being brought on by dehydration. That happened with my last pregnancy. I wasn't drinking enough water and it took over 24 hours for me to get dialated to 3cm!

I walked up and down the stairs until my legs felt like they were going to fall off.....then I rested as I walked oround the house and went back up and down some more........Sit down in the butterfly position.....your feet touching eachother....Or sit and have one leg crossed indian style and the other foot is flat on the floor like your just about to get up......Sit "like a man" in a chair with a pillow and just rock......Crouch down next to your bed or your couch for a while, use a pillow.....get on your knees and position your body so your upper area is relaxed and your butt is in the air........If you want your hubbies help wake him up, have him sit in a chair or on the couch and support your arms while you crouch......or you can lean on him while he sits in the chair and your buttocks are up.......Keep your legs as spread open as you can as you do any of these, you WILL feel your vagina slightly open and you should feel pressure because of the position, this is good!!!! Dont tense up while you do any of these moves, that will make it harder on your cervix to open, just relax and BREATH!!!!.....I wouldnt try sex, it might make the baby bounce back up or hold off coming down tonight...would you want someone poking you in your head???? Dont Drink the Caster oil or whatever!!! No spicy foods dont work just give you heartburn....If you are past 4 cm......take a warm bath, bring your legs up in a pushing postition and just RELAX!!!!!
Lots of tips pretty sure they will all help....

I personally wouldn't suggest sex not now. I had a very long slow labour with my firstand all i was advised to do was to walk. Have a bath to relax and then try having a walk up and down the stairs. I sympathise though your husband isn't being very fair by going to bed i would wake him up.
