yes. It has nothing to do with losing your virginity. Millions of 15 year old or teenage girls use tampons and most of them are virgins.
You only lose your virginity if you have sexual intercourse (i.e. a man's penis enters a woman's vagina)

Yes and I'd say either your mom is misinformed, or doesn't want you to because she fears it would lessen your fear of sex by inserting something inside the vagina. But it is not a sexual experience at all and does not affect your virginity in anyway.
However, obviously still a teen, I'd not advise you to go against your mother.
If you do decide to use them, however, be sure to change them often as they can be a cause of a deadly condition known as Toxic Shock Syndrome which is rare, but most often occurs to young girls when they don't change the tampon often enough.

Yes you can. There are different sizes.
Something that women are not always told about tampons is I think it is called shock syndrome. Some women are unable to use these because of this. There are also those that have perfume, if you are sensitive to perfume be careful not to buy these kinds.
Read up on them, if you have another women around to talk to do.
I am lucky and had several older sisters. The oldest telling me of this. Then I read up on it.

It can be a bit difficult for you to insert a tampon because of the hymen (skin that partly covers the vaginal opening). I can't remember which tampon company designed one specifically for that purpose. You can ask your gyne.
