Tell her that you don't and that you DO care...make her something form your own hand and then give her a card saying that you don't have any money at the moment. If she cares for you then she will be okay with that. Then the next chance you get, give her something that she will always remember. And tell her that you are sorry that she did not have it to open on Christmas! You could borrow money from a friend....I know that seems sad but then pay them back the first chance you get. If your friends don't have money then go to 'Money Tree' or 'Check into Cash' here you can get an advancement on your pay check....the only prob with this is you will not have as much next time you get payed.....next year pick out something RELAY RELAY early and start saving for it. Even if you only save the change from your pocket everyday the money will add up surprisingly fast!

Speaking from a wife's point of view, these are the things I'd most want my husband to give me for Christmas if he didn't have any money.
1. A handmade bunch of coupons that I could redeem at any time.
Coupons for things like. Help with the housework, a back rub, an hour of my husband's undivided attention, a shower together, etc.

2. Himself naked under the tree except for a bow you know where.....

3. A homemade card that said something like this....I. O. U. so
much this Christmas. I don't even know where to start. I .O. U.
my respect for staying by me in good times and bad. I. O.U. my
compassion because I know how hard it can be for you to put up with me. I.O.U. all my love just because....

Sometimes its the small things that count.
On xmas day give her a huge hug and kiss, tell her how much you love her and that the money is tight at the moment but you will do your best to make her day a really good one.
Any woman who really loved you would appreciate that.
Take her for a walk in the park or somewhere special between the two of you and spend your time chatting.
For dinner, you cook something, use your imagination and hire some dvds, watch them together.
xmas isnt about gifts, its about the birth of jesus and sharing with the ones you love.

A poem you wrote, a letter telling her about how you feel about her, or even a romantic sensual massage by you for her would mean more than anything to her, I'll bet. She's just as aware of the money situation as you are. Make her a list of "honey do's" that she can use like coupons for you to do the dishes for her, or some other chore she really doesn't like but usually does in the house. It's the feeling of Christmas, not the ability to buy something, that makes Christmas special.

You, in a big red bow. Your married, I'm sure she will understand. My husband and I have not exchanged gifts for the past 2 years due to money. We have each other. Children are what really count this time of year!!! If you have no children, all the better, perfect opportunity to wear nothing but a red bow, and wait under the tree!!!!!

Sweetie,
It doesn`t matter how much if any you spend on a gift, it`s the love that goes into. Write her a gift certificate for a meal that you cook, a day when you do everything and she relaxes, a massage., walk in the park, a drive to the country for a picnic (which you cook the food) or something that doesn`t cost anything but it`s done with LOVE. GOOD LUCK & MERRY CHRISTMAS

This might sound a little childish, but hey its a idea. Why dont you make her dinner (nothing special if you dont have the money for something big, but anything would be nice) Buy her a single red rose or some type of flower if you can afford it. And give her a massage or something. Or make her a coupon book....Good for one massage....Good for this and that.

If you have kids - get a babysitter for the night and make the best effort into pampering her with a dinner that you cooked, candlelite and soft romantic music. For a real treat, pick a fantasy of hers and make it come true. Do this as a surprise. I've done this for my husband and he thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

If you can find a photo of you two together when you first met, you can put it in a frame that you can get really cheap along with a coupon for an IOU for a romantic evening alone.

Get her flowers. She'll understand about the no money and think you're a sweety for getting her flowers.
