This is a gift I received last year from my boyfriend of almost six years now, maybe you can steal his idea...
He got his favorite picture of the both of us and blew it up to fit a 8 x10 frame which in walgreens/cvs/walmart etc, you can use the kodak picture maker and load the pic from your digital camera and it will be less then ten bucks to make.
Then get a frame and take it to get engraved or buy one that is already engraved. My boyfriend had a frame engraved. He wrote "Unbreakable" on the top and had our anniversary date engraved on the bottom as well. He put the picture inside and wrapped it all up (or had someone wrap it for him).
Let me tell you it took me by surprise, it showed his thoughtfulness and I know it took effort which made me feel special. That was the first gift I have ever recieved in my entire life that actually brought me to tears, good luck!!

gift card to local mall so she can shop at the store of her choice for something she really has wanted but might perhaps not had the money to get before now.

Something thoughtful.
A silver locket maybe?
Chocolates and flowers?
A framed picture of the two of you?
There's a lot of options.

think of something that she really needs and that would also be of use all year round...
but any gift from that significant someone woud definitely be appreciated by the one who would receive the gift...(^_^)
