for a single Plant GE has a Show and grow bulb about 75watt
Looks like a flood light bulb

I use a fluorescent tube bulb for my plants. It is just like using a grow light. My plants do well with it.

Fluorescent Bulbs are the best if you don't want to invest in lighting specifically made for the purpose.

Lionman is correct...flourescent lights are best for plants...regular lights don't do much of anything.
