There is so much focus on money and "stability," that people forget to instill the more important things in their children such as honor and devotion. Everyone would rather spend all their time working to give their kids "the life we never had" instead of actually spending time raising their children and developing their character. This begins a cycle in which each generation works longer, harder hours for larger, fancier houses yet no one has any morals.

People have become more distant in general. There is more lonliness and isolation. Go to small rural communities in other countries and you will see what I mean. The people are simple, happy. Compare that to your average person, workaholic, trying to pay off the mortgage, stressed.

The rate of crime going up. Cost of living going up. The division between the haves and the have nots.
The richer get richer and more people get poor and on government assistance.

Drugs. Legalize them and it removes the profit motive and pretty much ends the problem, but they will not legalize drugs because of the profits made by the prison system.

People have become too greedy . They need to have it all and they want it NOW !
