i believe it is the human virtue to forgive and understand that it is god's place to forgive and your place to acknowledge this

the other day i was reported by two people i hadn't even offended for writing a criticism to another person that posted. then i withdrew my question because i didn't want it to become a heated verbal fiasco. i made a new question apologizing for my comment if i offended anyone and those two individuals wrote to me...one said i was playing the role of martyr and wasnt really sorry
and the other said she was reporting me again for insult to injury!

is this right? shouldn't a person's apology be respected. it hur me deeply because i dont even find it my place to forgive or punish and someone can accuse me...i hadn't even used any vulgar language only expressed an opinion.

if it isnt in human nature to forgive i am deeply aggrieved and this occurrence really shook me.
so only serious comments please...

if you will take my word and you dont have to because you don't know me and i respect that
i promise you when i say i was sorry. i don't believe in the waste of words. i say it if i mean it only. and i dont think my apology should have been reported.
trust me the concept of getting away with murder didnt apply here...it was asimple dissenting of opinions and nothing vulgar and i said sorry for it a million times because i never want to hurt anyone's feelings unconsciosly and i said whatever i did in blind fury...im not known to be short tempered but the comment ticked me off and then i regained my proper judgement and maturity and by then people hated me for a stupid comment and said i don't respect anyone!

This is the venue for appropriate opinion, meaning beneficial and creating understanding. If you meant what you wrote and you beleived it and it was an opinion that may have helped others ...yes it was perfect. If it was sheer criticism, this is not the place for it as people on here read only words without inflection or facial expression. Many times without this, messages are very misunderstood. Overall, don't let your feelings be hurt. People lash out easily because no one can see them. They hide behind a flat screen. Bring them out face to face and one can honestly see how brave they are and how much they believe in what they want heard.
I hope this compartmentalizes all this enmeshed stuff....it's not easy but stay true to yourself....

There is a difference between an apology and saying "sorry". If you weren't being sincere about your apology, well that is worse than not apologizing at all in my opinion.

What did you say in the first place? Do you honestly realize that you might have offended someone and may need to reexamine yourself and the way you address others? Or do you simply not care and just wanted to see if you could get away with murder by throwing the word "sorry" around.

Perhaps they were overreacting too, but if they took the time to report you, two separate people, my inclination is to believe that you truly did say something offensive.

I'm a very forgiving person. I work in a nice little store where we are all Christians and some old woman came in and cussed me out and practically called me stupid. She had no reason to do this because she had never even met me before. I think she just assumed that because I am young that I have no brains, you know? :P But when she left I simply smiled and said thank you and have a merry Christmas. And you know what, she smiled and said thank you. To me, forgiveness is an amazing thing. If people didn't forgive one another this world would sure be messy!

I completely understand where you're coming from. I am deeeeply hurt when people don't accept my forgiveness! :)

Generally, we all are forgiving until it comes to real grevious hurt, some may seek revenge. Pity this had to happen to you - just move on, this is only a site to "enjoy", really nothing else. So, simply ignore those askers or answerers in future. That's what I'd do.

This probably will never be tested, but I believe that I would forgive a person who killed a member of my family.
I believe that I would make sure that they got life in prison and not the death penalty.

Hey you said your peace and asked for forgiveness so if 2 individuals can't deal with that or have a problem deal with it and move on. Remember you can't please everyone all the time and since it wasn't vulgar .........MOVE ON........
