I Understand all of your points... however having her fail a couple of times would make her want to solve it even more... she is a very determined little girl. but i dont want to upset the family i just dont get it. my mom and dad got us all one when we were young...

Omg, you should so get it, you have the right to get her a gift that does not harm her in any negative way at all. You need to stay strong here, and you can even argue that it will make her smarter, i don't know all the science facts, but i think it will help her get smarter. And at least you have the mom on ur side. Get her the rubiks cube and if he is really against it, then make him take it away himself.

I don't see any problem with a Rubik's Cube for a 7 year old. Especially if she is a bright child. I checked the Toys R Us site ... they said 8 and older.

My kids had them when they were about 7 ... maybe 7 1/2 .

I don't think there is any real harm in letting her try it. The odds of figuring it out are very small. It is an extremely hard puzzle and takes a lot of brain power to solve. It might be a little too complex for a 7 year old, but it would not do any harm.

Rubiks cubes wouldnt hurt her, unless she gets her skin caught between the squares while shes turning it. Great for young minds. I played with that alot, and i got my first one for christmas when i was 7. It was so fun. But the first time i solved it, was when i was 8 next christmas. So challenging, but very fun.

I think it would be a good idea to get her a rubiks cube because it helps improve her mental skills. She will never learn if she can't try.

Rubix cubes are awsome. I think what your brother means by "harming" her would be that it is probably too complex of a puzzle for her to figure out with any speed (i think that's what makes them fun). However, if her dad doesn't want you to get her one, it'd probably be a bad idea to do so.

Just try to comly sit down and explain to your family the good points you have told us and explain that its builds the speed in with the brain thinks snd it will teach her to solve problems in life and not give up.
