I heard something interesting few days ago - reindeer are the only deer species where the female grows antlers too not just little horns. In autumn the males start fighting amongst themselves and by late october/november they lose their antlers, many of which are found on the ground. The only reindeer with antlers you see in winter therefore are actually females. So santa's sleigh is pulled by a bunch of girls one of which has a shiny nose.

Anyone else heard of this?!

According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring. Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl. We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-a*s man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.

Actually, the main reason why the reindeer are depicted with antlers was becasue the people creating the depictions didn't know any better. The didn't know that the femal;es of the species also grew antlers and the didn't know that the males lose them in the winter. And even if they did, they would have probably done it the same way because antlers are so recognizable as a characteristic of the animal that, innacurate or not, they knew people would know what it was...

dont be silly love. females only have very small stubby things but the males grow very big ones to fight with. They shed them during winter and grow new ones for next autumn to fight again for the best female. The ones you see in winter with antlers are young ones that cant compete with the bigger ones. Did you know they have a skin on the antlers that is called velvet and they scratch this off on the sides of trees to expose the true bone antlers underneath. And when they do it they bleed from the antlers until it heals and goes hard. Plus santa never had reindeers he was from turkey and was a priest.

It was actually Rudolps twin Sister, Rudina, but the sexist people gave Rudolph the credit.

Don't you think they may keep their antlers dew to magic, after all they can fly, I've never seen a common reindeer fly. Have you? I choose the old version.

ok... i hate when that happens, but like someone before said; put toothpaste on it at night... a good layer of it, and try to make it whitening toothpaste, that isn't gel. During the day, you should cover it with a concealer, and use the ice to cool it down. Also, try looking up homemade zit zapper recipes, and put honey on it when you're at home, when other people aren't going to see your sticky honey face. Hope it works! And it most likely will be gone by xmas. Good luck!

You're saying that Santa's sleigh is pulled by a team of females? If so, that's kinda scary. What would happen if one or more of them had PMS on Christmas Eve? Where would we be then?

Rudolph is a male, but in the off-season, he moonlights as Rudolphina, the transvestite cabaret female-reindeer impersonator.

Yes and it's TRUE. All of "Santa's" reindeer are female. Do you honestly think men could work that hard?
