I fear dying now more than ever because I have a kids. When I was younger, it was only me and maybe my parents that I worried about. I think I will be much more at ease about dying when they are grown and can take care of themselves. I was with my mom when she died and it was actually a beautiful experience. She was in alot of pain and was suffering, but I saw the pain leave and she looked so peaceful those last moments. Since then, I know there is a place whether physical or ethereal that we go. I feel like I saw her go and that she's good where she is.

Yes the fear of dying is common and is probably caused by the fact that we tend to fear things that we don't know everything about or understand, and also the fact that we cannot control really can add to this fear. But not wanting to offend you in any way I would like to say that we do have ways that these fears can be put to rest but knowing that death is just a journey that we have to travel and that there is something there to comfort all our fears. I hope that this isn't to vague as to cause confusion but we have a hope that with our trust we are promised a precious gift that this will not be an ending as we see it now but a beginning. Hope this helps, good luck take care.

All carbon based life forms are mortal . . .
And since we all pass at some point , time spent obsessing about it is time totally wasted , that is time that you should be spending LIVING !
So your real problem is all the hours gone to the trash . .
hours you did NOT spend living as best you could but
hours spent freaking about something that happens to everyone in the future
. And will all this freaking alter the course of reality ? Will YOU become immortal ?
So why are you throwing perfectly good hours in the garbage ?
Sounds like you really do NOT value life or you would respect it and Live It !
Only you know why you are throwing your time away.

Nope I don't feel this way, I stopped being afraid of death and began embracing the concept when I was 7, I'm 25 now. I had a near death experience then and have had several more since then. I'm actually looking forward to it, I'm a Christian and I believe everything the Bible says about heaven. I know how crazy it sounds to non-believers but I'm looking forward to the day I get to look Jesus face-to-face.
By the way: I'm not at all suicidal, I just see the world differently that most people.

I'm always afraid of it. Anytime I even get in the car with someone my age or younger I and I feel even slightly that they're a bad driver I feel like it's going to be my last ride ever. There was a boy killed in my school in a car accident so young and it just scares me that you have noo idea when it's going to happen. I mean you could get in the car and bam, you're dead. It's a scary subject. And although I'm a Christian I still have my doubts. I feel that I'm not a good enough one and that I won't make it to heaven because I'm definately not a "good" person completely. Believe me, this freaks me out like crazy. And other people dying scares me too. Like my husband, parents, etc...

Dana the fear that has spawned in you has spawned in me a few times also. I have come to the conclusion that I fear death only because I have not fulfilled my lifes obligations. I want to experience everything I can. I feel that I have not lived up to what was expected of me.
All I can say is live you life the best you can and once you are content with you past and what you have done you will then feel that it is time to escape your earthly means and transcend into a higher plane of existence.

Death (not living) is a scary thing. But it can also be a beautiful thing in a way--it can remind us that our time here is limited, and we must make the best use of it, perhaps by using our talents to leave the world in a bit of a better state than the way we found it.

i remember one day when i was 15 i completely freaked out and started crying (i think more so becuase of the unknown) but if i think about dying i start hyperventaliating... i freak out... for me to think that in 70 years i won't be here, my opinion won't matter, what i've done won't matter... to think that we don't get another change, it's not a game and that this answer i'm typing now won't exist in 70 years freaks me out. So yes i'm in the same boat as you!

When you die, you go to a much better place than where we are now! We should not fear dieing what so ever, its the things we have to put up with when were living, that can be so bad. Our spirit, NEVER dies, only our body. Our body gets old and dies, or whenever our time is up, that's it for our physical body, but our soul or spirit never ever dies!!
