Absolutely. Everything eventually breaks down or degrades. Keeping it cool, out of the light, and tightly-capped will help, and spray bottles are better than the ones where you use an applicator or your finger - those type of bottles introduce your skin oils and dirt into the perfume, hastening the breakdown/contamination. From what I've seen, six months to a year is about the limit before you can discern a real difference in the scent. The better your sniffer, the quicker you'll notice that.

Yes, in a way. What happens is when the perfume gets too old or if it sits for a long period of time without being used, the chemicals in it starts to separate and it doesn't smell the same. It can even irritates your skin. If it looks cloudy or discolored, don't use it. Places that are warm and hot usually cause this quicker. Store it in a cool place and out of the light.
Hope this helps

While I have never seen an "expiration date" on perfumes before they can change in smell after a long period of time...i would say a year after being opened is the absolute max to keep a scent around...then its time to invest in a new one or try something new.

Of course it can expire...there are no ingredients in perfume that make it last for eons. It'll definitely go bad...and for those that don't think their 3 year old perfume doesn't smell funny - ask someone who's stuck in an elevator with you.

I don't think it has an expiration, but I've left it in the cabinet for a long time (years) put it on one time and it didn't smell the same. I thought it was cause my smell senses changed, but I was thinking it may just be old and lost it's smell.
So....I go with YES it is old and lost it's smell.
Maybe you'll get some new for Christmas.

It sure does! Perfume, contains extracts from plants and flowers and it continues to ferment in the bottle. If you keep it too long eventually you will notice that the color has changed, it usually get darker or orangey, and you will also notice the smell has changed. I used to know somebody that kept all her perfume in the fridge, she swore by it, says it made the perfume last longer.

Yes it does. Keep it away from heat and light and it will last longer. When it expires it turns a darker colour and smells completely different.

no but if its kept in the weird spot with lots of heat or if its kept cold they can go abit funny. Also if something else mixes with the perfume for some weird reason some changes with the perfume can also happen.

Yes, and I recently had a friend tell me that somewhere similar to Target sells name brands, like Chanel, at outlet prices, just b/c they are old and will eventually expire. They won't hurt you, but they won't smell as strong!
