Do you imagine them standing in a field and actually count them one by one? Do you imagine them running by and count them as they pass by? Wouldn't all of this stimulation just keep you awake, it seems like alot to do when trying to fall asleep....

I just imagine them passing lazily by. Sometimes I imagine them jumping or going through a fence gate. The important thig is that you focus on counting and that you count slowly. This gives your mind something to center on, and it prevents your mind from racing on other thoughts. It almost always for me.

No, you're thinking too hard. Just imaging a straight line of sheep walking by you and count each one as it walks by. The whole idea of falling asleep is NOT to think.

I don't like doing that, instead I imagin other things jumping over the fence, like ducks, it makes me giggle, getting my mind off all the worries that pop up and then the counting get boring so I fall asleep!

Sheep dont work anymore, I count the crappie in my live-well. Sleep well

It doesn't work for me... but when I do it, I imagine them jumping over a fence.. they're more or less cartoon sheep too, and they have their number painted onto them.
I feel like such a freak...

counting sheep doesn't help me sleep. nothing does. counting anything (not just sheep) drives me nuts. it doesn't help. if u need 2 get some sleep, try sleeping pills

I see them jumping over the bed, but when I was young I tried it and it definately makes me think tooo much and I just can't sleep!
