if u open your computer case, ull see empty white looking receptacles rectangular looking and long; those are pci slots. a pci card fits in that slot.

Your PCI slot is inside the case of your tower or desktop computer. The connector part of the PCI card (if it requires one) will extend outside the case, through the provided cut-out. It is the slot that matches the configuration of the PCI device you have.
