Ideally it should be better to give without any intention of receiving.That's giving. Otherwise it just becomes an exchange.There is no harm in receiving still.

As I have gotten older I realized that giving and seeing the look on the recipient's face is much better that receiving a gift.

I believe giving is better than receiving, although, receiving is always nice too.

Yes, I do. I just spent the last week baking Christmas cookies for my family and friends. I know they really appreciate my work and effort and I get praised as the World's Best Baker. But then again, I really loved it when I was the last person on Earth who didn't have a DVD player and my brother gave me one for Christmas. SCORE!

I do, i have the best time shopping for everyone and its fun to see there faces when they open there gifts. I love to receive but its so rewarding to give.

well yeah, but if it isn't a two sided thing then it can't function! unlessu r giving to the needy or something, but sometimes if u keep on giving to someone frequently because it makes u feel good than it is like a reward.
but if u give because u feel that u have to than it takes away the whole idea!
also on the other side, the person who is actualy getting the things might feel that they HAVE to give back to the person who gave to them, THAT TAKES AWAY THE ENTIRE CONSEPT!!

If your in prison it is better to be the giver than the receiver
but normally it is nice to be the receiver

yes i do, my favorite part of the Holidays to get to see the looks on peoples faces when i give them a gift, i just love it
