Depending on what type of roof covering you have (I assume it is not metal). Wood shingles or shakes would require a quicker response, rather than asphalt. However, the roots of the moss provide a direct path for water intrusion. If left unattended, the shingles will rot.

That being said, you can remove it by CAREFULLY using a pressure washer (at low setting) and a mild detergent, then rinse with clean water. This may be an annual or bi-annual event if the moss (or sometimes algae) begins to grow again. If you don't feel comfortable traversing a roof, DON'T DO IT, hire a professional. Good luck.

Sprinkle tide with bleach on the peak of the roof. it will kill it and prevent more from growing. once its browned, and dry, you can literally sweep it off. If you sprinkle a couple time a year will also keep it under control.
