i use cannibis. its been used for centuries as a sleep aid. its known to keep body temps a half degree lower for regular smokers. half degree lower means yer body feels less stress. the less stressed the faster one falls aleep. my personal research would say that you dont even have to be 'high' when you go to sleep.

I find the best way to fall asleep is after a swim. I think its because of the heat. If you turn the tv, or a movie on low, and the heat up with a cup of hot chocolate your bound to fall asleep as well. Also I was told that pancakes everyones favorite food will put you to sleep you could try it i suppose. But you'll get the best sleep of your life if you tire your body completely out.

What works for me is I close my eyes, and I am NOT allowed to open them until I fall asleep

P.S. You will fall asleep faster if you do something to wind you down 20 min before you plan to fall asleep. Avoid the TV and Computer.
Oh and Lavender spray is proven to make you sleep longer/better and fall asleep faster.

This is NOT a stupid answer - CLOSE YOUR EYES.

I've had problem falling a sleep since I was a teenager, and just discovered recently when a hotel I stayed at has cable problem so no TV to fall asleep with. I closed my eyes and was gone in minutes.

I have problems falling asleep also. If after so many minutes I can't fall asleep then I get up and do something for awhile then I try again. It must be dark and cool for me to fall asleep and also very quiet.

lying down cause if you fall asleep standing up you may fall and hurt yourself. If that fails, try picturing the next day and go through every detail, like picture getting out of bed and putting your feet on the floor. You get so bored you pass out.
