Ok I feel like a moron because I am having feelings for an ex from 8th grade , I mean we were really close and best friends before we dated but Im 22 now , Through out the years I did think about him alot and I have missed him .When he broke up with me I felt my heart fall into my stomach , I never had a pain like that . I hated him for it and I never talked to him again .

For the past 5 months we have been talking through e mail since he lives in another city for college . We never talk about what happened back then we just talk about our lives now . He is home for the holidays and I was wondering if I would be out of line to ask him to hang out ? I would like to work on being friends again . And do you think I am childish for having feelings for someone I dated in 8th grade , I mean is it possible ?

Absolutely!! I don't think it's weird at all, and I say go for it! There's no harm in it, and if you've been friends before and chatting online for awhile, it's only normal to ask if he wants to hang out.

Good luck, I hope it goes well!

Don't hate it, honestly, because when I was in year 7 I couldn't wait until I left! Now I'm only coming into school for my exams and I miss it like hell! Everytime I have an exam I walk around for a bit before I go back home! Year 11's my best year, because everyone got on with each other so well. We'd known each other for five years and the immaturity starts to fade. Doesn't disappear, but it fades. Everyone gets used to the pattern of school, everyone understands the importance of their education and all that. All I am going to say is if you think Year 7 is hard, you're going to hate year 11. Feel lucky that you're still young!

I don't think you're being childish. I think it's possible to think about what could've been and be a little infatuated with that thought, and I don't think you'd be out of line to ask to hang out. I think when you finally see him though and actually start getting to know him again you may not feel the same, people definitely change after a while.

I think that would be really cool of you as long as neither of you are attached to anyone else, go for it! He would probably be impressed that you asked in spite of what happened, so very long ago. And no that's not childish of you for having feelings for him, you are probably both very different people now, middle school sucks, then you get over it, so have fun now that you are in your twenties!

Theres no problem with that! You like him then id definitely go for it. If your serious about being friends id be careful though. Dont want to lose him for good if he doesnt feel the same.

No, it's not childish and it is possible. Talk, get to know each other again and see where it goes from there.

Definitely ask him out...if he says no you're no worse off than before.....if nothing else maybe you'll reconnect with an old friend!
