That is a tough one. Make sure you get plenty of sleep the night before. Maybe drink something with caffeine before the class. Try taking well written notes, that way you get the information for tests and studying and you are doing something to take your mind off the drone of the boring teacher and the teacher may appreciate the note taking. Other than that, I don't know. Teachers do make a difference in what and how we learn. Just try harder to concentrate and stay focused. Good luck.

I have read the first 12 answers and they offer good advise for treating the symptoms of your dilemma. I suggest you try to get to the root of your problem. Concentrate on your main reason for being in the classroom instead of the teacher. Since I am a math teacher (and some of my students have accused me of being boring) let's pretend it is your math teacher who is boring. Go to class prepared to learn. Yes, that means take all the needed materials, but it also mean read the next lesson in your math book and have an idea of what will be covered in class. Then what is being said and what is being written on the board will look familiar and make sense. Most importantly, go into the classroom with a desire to learn. Many students overcome various obstacles (including poverty, abusive parents, insecurity, etc.) to be successful because they have a desire to learn. Yeah, the teacher will still be boring, but it won't matter as much.

Ask questions, contribute to the discussion, ask the teacher if you and some of your friends can do a presentation or project about the topic.
Tell the teacher that you really like hands on types of activities and ask if he can do more of those.
Read ahead and think of creative ways to teach the up coming section. Ask the teacher if you can teach a short part of the upcoming topic.
Ask the teacher how you can help make the class a fun dynamic place to learn.
Depends on your teacher and the relationship that you have with them as to which of these you will want to try.

First, try to fake an interest. Maybe if you keep telling yourself that the class is interesting, it will become interesting.
Make a game of it.
Try to stay as active as possible. Wiggle your feet.
Make sure you get plenty of sleep and exercise and take care of your health and all that so you are not sleepy in general.
I try to repeat everything the professor says in my head.
Also, bring a light snack to class if you can. Maybe some raisins. It worked wonders for a friend of mine who always feel asleep in class.

Wear a few rubber bands around your wrist and drink those Vitamin C packets.
When you think you're falling asleep, pop yourself with the rubberband.
Also, don't overload with candy. Keep small snacks like a bag of cherries or cheerios and a bottle of water in the front of your backpack so you can snack in between classes.

Take notes, lots of them. Keep your hands busy. Argue with your teacher on paper ( not outloud) Yell at your teacher on paper ( not outloud) . You will look like you are engrossed, they will be pleased and complimented by your attitude. Doesnt make them less boring, just makes you look good.

Take notes. Multi-task. Chew gum. (This is how I made it through my boring business classes)
