Depending on the rules, you might be not allowed to start a team that's similar to the existing team. At least, this is how it is in my school. What you have to do is to say that your group will be sufficiently different from the existing one. I.e. you do other dance style. Other differences may be competitive, non-competitive, performing or social dancing.

Usually, all you have to do is to write a standard petition of the club and have a few interested students sign it. Find out what are the rules in your school.

Did you consider joining the exiesting team? If the answer is no, ask yourself why. This will be your answer on how your team will be different and why you need a new one. If the only difference is they are from another county they just might say no.

go to the office and ask premission, a school Councilor could give you some great ideas to get one started. Then to get the word aout about it, put an ad in the school paper, or put up posters, make announcments, get people interested because I'm sure there are lots of other dancers at your school waiting for the opportunity to join a school dance team or club.

One way you could be begin is with your friend's or ask around in your neighborhood - I'll bet there are plenty of people who would love to join in - get your dance idea's together the way you want your routine to go - And have your music ready - input's can be helpful - use them ,but remember you stay in control - This is your dance team ! -- I sure hope this has helped you- Lot's of Luck !! Make it yours --- Pattijo

at my school all you have to do to start a club is get a group of people signing a petition saying they will be in the club.. so just ask some of your interested friends.. and then get a teacher to sponsor the club.. just ask your favorite teacher or one who may be into dance.. and then talk to the principle.

i hope it works out for you : )
