I know this sounds stupid, but I am really afraid of maggots. Its so bad that I cant even eat rice. Does anyone else have this fear? Does anyone know what it is called?

OMG I can`t believe there`s someone else. There was a toothpaste commercial once that had dancing blobs of toothpaste. Well those dancing blobs reminded me of maggots and I had to leave the room every time it came on. I`d like to know what it`s called too!

I hate maggots also, however, i do not have the fear so badly I am unable to eat rice. Wow, that really is bad. no I don't know what it is called. God bless****

Where do maggots grow? In rotting putrid stuff. The association is maggot = putrid stuff = feces, thus connects to a fear of feces. There was the threat of love withdrawl or punishment when you put feces in your mouth during infancy, as all infants do. Now the association string is reversed: Feces = maggot = rice.

I don't have it but it sounds normal. Then again I won't eat loose rice. I has to be sticky or it reminds me of maggots.

How could you have a fear of maggots???
they don't even bite but they are GROSS i will agree but
they would never be in your life!!
UNLESS you are dirty & never clean up your house scraps
Oh yes if you have a chicken carcas or meaty scraps in the bin for too long you will get maggots ( but you can solve that just leave them in the freezer until bin day )
& don't hang around dead people & you will never ever come in contact with them

They're only baby flies. Without 'em we'd be up to our a** in garbage.
I had an employee who had a fear of chickens. He would not get out of the car if a chicken was around.

i dont know what kind phobeia is that, but to defend and kill ur scare, u need to completly understand that is rice is not maggots say it to ur self 3 times and eat the rice. that what i did about spiders, flys, and worms =(
