Liberals claim that liberal media bias is merely a conservative conspiracy theory, but they can only name one media source that isn't patently liberal. Liberal news outlets are losing viewers just as the only non-liberal channel is gaining viewers. Does this speak of viewers thirst for fair and balanced reporting? How else can this be explained, other than a conservative conspiracy theory? Liberal radio channels, such as Air America, have gone bankrupt but conservative radio is thriving. Will this same scenario eventually cause more fair and balanced reporting on television news?

You raise a lot of issues, Ill try my best. As to your main question, no, not bias exactly, I think it would be more precisely evidence of media imbalance.
Even if you were to call it bias, if your argument is that conservative or "non-liberal" outlets are gaining viewers and "liberal" outlets are on the wane, for whom is that "bias" really working? And in any case, sheer numbers don't mean very much as you can only listen to one thing at a time.

This shift -- in either direction --does not speak to a viewer's thirst for "fair and balanced" reporting; it is more about tuning in to what you already want to hear, which is what most of us too often do. The only way to get fair and balanced reporting and opinions is to listen/watch toBOTH. Both sides almost always have cogent arguments and both sides are not beyond manipulating the facts; only by considering both do you have any hope of a reasonable overview.

As far as TV news reporting, I don't know...in what specifc way does Fox news differ the rest? I listen to both but I don't think I could tell one from the other...

Lastly, and a bit off subject, aren't you discouraged by the labels liberal and conservative? The very existence of these labels encourages sheep mentality. People don't really consider an issue, they just go with whatever they "are". It creates an oversimplified atmosphere of good/bad, us/them, right/wrong, my team/your team.

For what it's worth... lol
