If you want something a little more atmospheric and new-agey but with a lot of deep traditional celtic folk roots you could try Clannad or possibly their offshoot Enya. They are long-established artists and have many beautiful songs: some are modern sounding, and some are simple arrangements of traditional Irish folk songs. Perfect for cold winter evenings by the fire!
