please could any 1 help me restore this as i need it 2 connect to broadband and it is not picking up my ethernet port which i no is installed?

hello if you have lost your local area connecions it means there is a fault with your computer picking up the local connection who is your internet provider?mines bt i live in the uk are you behind a fire wall and have you ghecked your proxie settings in the control pannel of my computer it could be you need to adjust them or change the proxie settings i have a problem tonight with my im and i had to change the firewall and the proxie setting have a try and see if it helps you if not your internet provider or the help dek on your computer should be able to help you good luck

click Start > All Programmes > Acessories > Communications > Network Setup Wizard it would tell u if your Ethernet is properly connected/installed it would give an error if its not. check this out first use this utility it would help best. if not write any further errors.

try to disable any firewalls windows or external and then see if it works.

do a system restore.click start, help.system restore.take it back to last highlight on calender.or go to devise manager,control panel,system,hardware scroll down and you will come to your Ethernet click properties,then enable device,if no luck click trouble shoot.

mine has done this several times, you need to call your internet provider and they will guide you through it!
