The trick is to go on when the majority of Americans (who make up the majority of this site) are not working so after 6pm. Why? Well obviously more people will see your question. Also you have to ask a question to which everyone will have an opinion.
I asked a very good question once and got 50+ answers all because I timed it right and it was something everyone could answer correctly without having to look up an answer. Why would someone answer something if the thing they were going to say is already answered. You mustn't ask something that there is a correct answer to because as soon as someone says the correct answer, why would the other person answer.
It doesn't all come donw to laziness like the people around me all think.
You see you should be smart and appeal to what people want to answer. They want to answer with their opinion in a serious way and you have to make the question totally objective in their view.

the intelligent questions require exactly that intellect. They require you to think not just speel off a few short lines. it is appealling because you could do the maximum amount of questions in minimal time.their is also a theory to how the stupid question get asked . My stupid questions come out when I've spent to much time on yahoo answers and am so far in the rabbit whole and have practically forgotten i could search the internet for the answers . Though i usually catch my self. Sometimes people aren't asking deep questions they realize this but just want an opinion on the subject. BY the way brown sugar is brown because its natural at least more than white sugar.

Intelligent questions require intelligent people with intelligent answers.
That is why I ask few questions. I am also (usually) very selective in the questions I pick to answer. I try to give useful answers or opinions although I do give some goofy answers sometimes (just because I'm in that mood.)
The worst thing I find on the site is the lack of the ability to spell (with a spell checker available) and to form coherent sentences!!
Also, while I don't mind a discussion with opposing viewpoints, many of the questions are "baited" by someone just spoiling for a fight and not looking for real answers. The age old problem of "my mind is made up, don't confuse me with facts"!

It's probably because the question is beyond the understanding of the people who happen to be on-line at that time. I've been very disappointed at the responses to some of my question. I think it's even stupider to answer if you don't know anything about the subject.
I ask a really friendly question the other day and only got two answers, both personally insulting me.
I like your nickname, by the way.

Because people dont like to actually think....It is so much easier to ask questions like......."Do you think I am cute....let me describe myself" or "What would you do if your came up and kissed you" What does this pertain to? This forum was designed for people with questions to seek peers imput about certain things. We are not necessarily searching for a right answer.....just a different perspective.

Intelligent questions take time and thought to answer. They are, as a result, largely overlooked by those either looking to just gain points or raise a ruckus.

The mundane questions are easier for people to answer, so more people will answer them. It's too bad that people don't answer your questions to your satisfaction. I asked one question, and I didn't get nearly the response I had hoped for, and not all of the answers were of very good quality.

Because it takes intelligence to understand and answer an intelligent question.

I have witnessed this myself. Its like Jay Walking on Jay Leno most of the time people don't know jack even about the most basic things. And when they do answer, its not pretty...
