Because they have stated that they want to kill Americans and Jews. We do not go out there and say we want to kill muslims.

Everyone seems to think that they shouldn't???? But, as you know, every time some one says why, some one else needs to say why not!
I'm not sure we should be so arrogant to dictate who should or shouldn't. I also think it's obvious that, those that do have nuclear energy are not far away from having a nuclear bomb.
The above said, Ahmadinejad has stated that Israel should be eliminated and the United States is the cause of most world problems. Those are facts! Further, Iran is showing off to the world that they have sophisticated missiles at the ready... Finally, the International Atomic Energy Commission inspect nuclear facilities world wide and is a respected and important part of nuclear regulation. Iran will not let them inspect their sites!
Do you want Iran to have a nuclear incident like Chernobyl or, a thermal nuclear devise? My preference is: As soon as Amadinejad is ousted or voted out, we try to work with them again. Until that time, I vote no on the nuclear issue for Iran.

Difficult question to answer. If you believe western governments then Iran is more interested in nuclear bombs then nuclear energy. Even at that point it becomes hypocritical for some countries to determine who gets nuclear bombs and who doesn't. Although I'd rather have the hypocrits then countries such as Iran with nuclear bombs.

Very vew people or countries say that Iran should not have nuclear energy. The problem is with Iran possession nuclear weapons. Since Iran has prevented inspections of their nuclear facilities and is also enriching uranium to weapons-grade levels, there is suspicion that nuclear energy will lead to nuclear weapsons.
Amedijan has repeatedly made statements suggesting that Israel by wiped off the map and has consistently supported terrorists. It seems reasonable to assume that a nuclear armed Iran will make nuclear war in the Middle East more likely and will also make it likely that terrorists will gain nuclear arms.
It is interesting that a country with such high oil reserves is so interested in nuclear energy.

Under the NPT, Iran has every right to develop nuclear energy. The Bush/Israeli plot is to ramp up false justifications to attack Iran and frankly, to keep every country in the OIL rich Middle East weak, so they can be invaded and destroyed-----Iran would be NUTS Not to get Nukes TO PROTECT THEIR CITIZENS FROM OIL THIEVING INVADERS!!

Seeing eatmore's avatar as a burning American flag - Who'd believe what he says. And why don't you stay out of Amercia?
Iran wants to kill us and Israel. Why do they need this for protection? Protection against who? We are their only real threat. We don't want the enemy to get a powerful weapon like us.
It won't be for protection. That's BS.

Because we (muslims) have to spend all the money we have and burn all the oil.
Because they want to pressure iran and they are using that legitimate right of knowledge against it.
Because some governments think technology is not everybody's.
And they say why third-world countries are not as advanced ... this is one of the reasons, someone does not want us to use technology to advance .. we have to stay backwards.
Gimme a freaking break ...
Good luck Iran, You have the right to and nobody can take that from you.

Only the richest countries should have nuclear weapons. The reason is they only think in terms of commerce.

They have explicitly stated their desire to destroy another country.
They tacitly support terrorist activity.
Look at what Ahmendinijad said and did recently - attended a Holocaust denier conference and also stated that "Israel, the US and Britain would soon disappear".
That's enough evidence for me.
