1. my 2001 honda accord se is making this weird noise. it's coming from the front left wheel well. it's like a screeching noise, but it's only momemtary cuz it only makes the noise when i go over a bump in the road or a road hump. any ideas?

2. also i've noticed my fuel mileage is going down. my car has 104,000+ miles on it. before i did the math and figured that even with the way i drive i was getting between 24 and 25 miles to the gallon, and now i did the math and my car has been getting between 17 and 18 miles to the gallon. should a tune up take care of that or do u guys think it is something more that needs to be done.

The mileage issue - just do a complete tuneup and that should take care of it. The screeching noise is more than likely the upper or lower ball joint on the left side. Considering there are alot of pot holes, the ball joints tend to wear out quickly and use only original Honda ball joints, they last the longest. Good luck...

You are in need of front brakes and possibly wheel bearings
gas mileage may be done because if your bearingas are shot it may be taking more of the peddle to get the car moving. Get this looked at now before you blow the whole front end. Or trade in the car for something with less problems. PS dont tell them about this crap.

first dont hit pot holes swerve around them they kill all suspension components and that could be what caused the squicking if your srtyt cover came loose. second you need to do your tune up and since your over 100000 miles then do your fuel filter also and try lucas injector cleaner when you put gas but do it right be4 you change your filter cause it can dislodge
debris into the filter.. it only cost like $4 at pep boys and its really good for your car in other ways also.

Sounds like a wheel bearing or a dragging wheel caliper, either or both would reduce mileage and make a screeching noise.
