If so could I get it from my satellite TV provider which is DirecTV?Would I have to pay a monthly subscription for HD Channels.I saw on Cnet.com that regular channels can't be seen clearer on HDTV.But won't I be able to see it clearer with the HDTV if I have DirecTV?

yes your 360 has 720 + lines of resolution, you can watch over the air HD broadcasts on it too, dont buy a 1080p or 1080i now, too expensive

Oh yeah, the HD tv is worth it for the xbox 360. My friend has one and it's awesome!!!! Regular tv looks pretty good too.

I watched an interview on the TVGuide channel and the guy they talked with said that it wasn't worth it.
