Usually the price is marked. Sometimes if you buy in quantity, you'll get a discount. However, things like swimming pools and garages take up space, so don't be fooled by discounted prices that don't exclude such items...
Be weary of signs or newspaper ads claiming to have a "yard sale." I've found that usually such things turn out to be misleading. The last yard sale I went to turned to out be little more than a group of folks trying to sell household items. Watch closely so you don't get tricked.
Garage sales can also be tricky...........

A yard of what or where??? maybe put more thought into your question. If you are talking soil or sand usually at your local nursery or look in the yellow pages under landscape to buy a yard.
