Making varsity is great as a freshman but your main concern should be get good grades and continue to work hard at the game. Baseball requires constant practice and sacrifice to make it to the show and even with that a lot of us did not make it. I played college and minor league ball and busted my butt getting better every year but an injury cut my career short, but by following some great advice I had continued my studies and 6 months after my baseball career ended I got my BA. That is what has enabled me to have a succesful career in the insurance business. Good Luck !!!!

dont give up though you might get better and get a college scholarship or a minor leauge contract. I am sure some pros alot of them dont even play as a freshman. You will need to improve though. Like No errors and .400 or .500 batting avg and 10 home runs or so because the pitching is not as tough. But that was your first year seeing things and they were all older than you give it a year or so and see if you dont improve if not just try something else..

Well your stats are not so impressive, but don't worry you have a Chance just spend hours, days, months working in the batting cages. Also field the ball and just look to improve. Regarding your stats, scouts don't just focus on stats when drafting players. They like raw talent, like a strong arm and quick bat speed. Just work out in the gym and cages and you have a shot. If you are a high school player, Micheal Jordan, I know he is a basketball player, but he didn't make his high school team and he worked hard and became the best. So a good work ethic will get you far.

There's no way anyone can give you an honest yes, or no answer. As your freshman stats, mean nothing, there are people ho were absolute studs in high school, and never sniffed the show, however there have also been some late bloomers, who were'nt that good and turned out to have an amazing career. The best thing you can do is go to college, and high school showcases, over the summer, and get your name out there. Good Luck on your upcoming season.

Sorry you have to have a way better average to make it to the next level. It also depends on what position do you play like if you make 6 errors in 20 games as a ss its not as bad as 6 errors in 20 games as a cf.

Ultimately the answer to that question is up to you and how hard you're willing to work and the amount of time and energy you're going to put into making yourself better than everyone around you.

Based on stats alone, I'd have to say no. There were guys who started varsity at my high school when they were in junior high and they played slick defense, started every game and hit in the .400s and didn't even get offers to play in college.

The best advice I can offer anyone is if they want to make it to The Show...keep at it. You're the only person who can every decide to let that dream die.

Sure you will tiger. But seriously, dont hang your career on it. Never count on playing pro, because its not assured to happen. No matter how good you are in freshman year, if you let it get to your head and think youre too good, then youll actually get worse. What really matters is that you do good in Junior/Senior year. Try to get a scholarship for college ball if anything so you can get a good education and play baseball, plus you can get drafted onto a minor league team, and have a degree.

It is tough to make it in the bigs. I have five brothers who were great players and a cousin who was drafted by the Blue Jays. He never made it after 5 years in the minors he called it quits when he couldn't get a contract. You have a long way to go but don't give up. Try and if you don't make it at least you will have giving your best shot.

Probably not. MLB scouts arent gonna care about what you did as a freshman. You gotta perform as a junior and senior and then maybe you might just have a chance at being in the minors.

No, you are going to have to improve by a lot, but keep playing and go to a team's farm system and maybe they can take a look at you. But seriously 256 sucks.
