It is "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows."
I am very excited! I looked up Hallow in the online Webster dictionary. It means to make holy devoted or venerate. It's opposite is to desecrate.

When I ran the Microsoft Thesaurus is gave me consecrate or make holy.

Sounds like maybe it is referring to deatheaters or dementors. Possibly Jo is referring to the death eaters as a deadly cult.

Also, James and Lily made their home in Godric’s Hollow, which is quite close to hallow. It would be poetic justice if Voldy died where he killed Harry’s parents.

I thought it was "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows." I must have misread it. Your's sound better anyway. I was wondering what kind of connection there would be between "deathly" and "hallow" as hallow is almost the same as holy. However, when I read your question, right away I thought of everything Harry's oppositition stands for...Deathly speaks for itself and Hollows...brrrrr....empty, nothing...etc. Darn good title!

Personally I think its great, This is going to be the last book and its going to be grim. We already know that 2 people are going to die and Harry's life is hanging in the balance, So I think it is a fitting title for the last book. I can not wait for it to come out....

For creative as the author has been, it certainly is not showing in the title of the book.

It certainly doesn't give a whole lot away about the plot. I just hope it is better than the 6th book. I found it a real disappointment.

I hate it beyond all reason.

Socorers stone
Chamber of secrets
Prosoner of azkaban
goblet of fire
order of the phoenix
half bllod prince
Deathly Hollows????

It just doesn't fit in with the rest of the titles.

to be honest, I'm kinda disappointed. 'Order of the Phoenix' and 'The Half Blood Prince' are awesome names.....I dunno about 'the Deathly Hollows'. Still, love the series and looking forward to #7, definitely.
