I want to get new strings for my violin. But what kind should i get. Is there a name of these kind of strings? For example if I play an E on a D string, it'll rattle, and sound awful. And I want to learn how to vibrato, but it's a little hard for me. How can i control my hand to vibrato?

Personally I find the 'Dominant' Violin Strings to be of very good quality. They are a little pricer but really pay off in sound. For the vibratio just keep practicing you will get it in time. When I first started with the vibrato I had a hart tiem b/c my hand was too tense. Try to just loosen it up and be a little softer and you'll be surprised. Also remember the vibrato really comes from the wrist more than just e finger and defineitely NOT the elbow. Best of luck

You can get normal violin strings (althougth if they're anything like cello strings they can be pretty expensive). But rattling is usually because the string is loose or because the string has cut in to much in the bridge. Unless the problem is directly with the strings (like that the coating is loose). Or you may not be pressing down hard enough.
Also vibrato is easiest to learn through practice (sorry..there really isnt an easy way) but it helps to relax. And warm hands are easier to play with.
Hope this helps

Is it the bridge? Is the string itself rattling? It could be that you're not pushing down hard enough on the string. If you're just starting out it will take some time to get a consistent playing strength. Stick with it.

Meanwhile, take your violin to a music store and have them check it out.

Ask Santa (aka Mom) to take you to a music store so that you can ask for help in finding the right strings from someone who knows.
