If I have a girl I'm naming her Skyler. I would really like to name her after my great-grandmother. She is still alive and very dear to me. The only problem is her name is Patricia, Skyler Patricia doesn’t sound very good to me? What do you think? Her nicknames are also Pat or Pasty. Skyler Pat, Skyler Patsy, or Skyler Patricia? I don't know! Which sounds better?

Or reverse the order, name her Patricia Skyler, and call her Skyler. Then her initials, P.S., are perfect for saying, "P.S., I love you!"

What's your grandma's middle name? or maybe if she was born in April, May, or June you could use grandma's birth month. Or try other connections to grandma...like street or town where she lives (hey it could be a name!-- but don't do it if it's not a name)
I don't think Skyler Patricia sounds bad though. Skyler Patrice?

I don't think Skyler Patricia sounds that bad. Unless you are going to call your child by two names on a daily basis (i.e. Sarah Jessica Parker), it's not that important. If it still bothers you, what about your great-grandma's middle name?

I like the Skylar Patrice........I also like considering the middle name. I don't really care for any of the three options you put up there.......my mom's name is Kathi and we wanted to name our daughter after her so we went with Avery Kathleen......everyone loves it and especially grandma.....keep thinking on it you will get something that you love. Skylar Therese isn't that bad or even Skylar Tressay. A lot of it too depends on your last name and if it flows with that!
