when i was a kid i looked up to adults and thought them mature and wise. But the most amazing thing i have learned now that im soon to be 37 is some adults no matter how old still act like children.

I,m not saying people 18 -25 are not adults, i just want people that have lived it a little longer and as for being carefree as a child i agree, its the petty gossiping and mean things that grown adults do to each other that i'm talking about.

That some people (including some gay people) could actually vote George W. Bush for president. Sorry, I just seem not able to get over that.

I also think it's astonishing how thermoses keep cold things cold, and hot things hot. (just kidding)

I also think it's astonishing how humans are so bright and full of transcending consciousness, but we still fight and kill each other.

I learned that most situations created by life were not destiny...were not thought out. I learned that many relationships are formed for all the wrong reasons, and most of us were a result of an accident or two individuals not knowing who they really were. I learned that life is indeed short. That you should take advantage of every moment that you have and not waste any moment on someone or something you don't truly want. I have learned to laugh at myself. I have learned that I really do not know very much at all, and therefore have so much more to learn. Like another person posted...I don't even always know the right questions to ask, but I keep asking hoping that someday the right question will come out.

there is not any favor to roll r's in Gaelic Irish. Oh, and also you'll love this - there is the letter r isn't used in any respect in Cantonese chinese language. Mandarin chinese language has an uncomplicated kind of r (a lot extra dental than the English r), yet i don't think of that's some thing an English community would locate confusing after somewhat bit training. i have had worry rolling my r's for a lengthy time period. I nonetheless do. i'm basically waiting to drag it off if I talk it with out consciously making an attempt, so i understand the way it feels (i have been studying Spanish for over 6 years now). do not enable that discourage you from studying although. in the destiny it ought to easily come to you - kind of like once you journey a bike or a thanks to whistle, you'll basically %. it up out of nowhere. good success.

Experience can be the best teacher but some adults just don't learn. Maturity does not come with age One more important thing is that if you take care of youself and your health, you'll never feel old nor look old. The most important thing that you will realize is that there is no turning back the clock and that regret always come a bit too late.

What a great question!!! I agree with you totally. It's so easy to look at adults and see them as just bigger versions of the children they once were. The cry babies still cry. The bullies still bully. The Barbie dolls still primp. I don't think the child in us ever really leaves...and that's good. The child is the part of us that hopes for the impossible and dreams big dreams. The child in me still loves to play and I'm 51. The most astonishing thing I've learned since turning 25 is something my father kept telling me as I was growing up. "Anybody's capable of anything." When he said it, he was referring to some of our relatives treating others unfairly. And he was right. But I have adopted the saying and added an additional, more positive concept to it. I once asked my father if He believed in heaven. He said, he believed that heaven is a place in the heart where the people you love have earned a place to live for eternity. I'm a firm believer in a literal heaven depicted in the Bible, so his description didn't really agree with me. He and I were at odds with each other for most of my life. He has since passed away. And since his death, I have realized that he is perhaps my biggest hero. Having now understood his life battles as an adult, I think he was quite a remarkable and brilliant man. And though, as a teen, I never thought he and I clicked, he has earned a place in my heart for eternity. "Anybody's capable of anything." I love you, Dad. And I miss you so much. That's what I've learned.

No matter where you are, you are there!

I've learned that generally people are lazy. They would rather someone else do the thinking for them then actually do the research themselves thus risking everything they've ever been taugh, whether it be from school, their parents, their friends or their religion.

I've learned that most people are fairly gullible to some extent. P.T. Barnum was right, there really is a sucker born every minute!

I've learned that no matter what color you paint a picture, it won't change the facts.

I've also learned that besides all the negitive things I've learned, people genuinly want to be good people.

i think that more people should act like children.
Most adults take themselves WAY too seriously and it impacts how everything else happens in the world.
I try to keep my childlike wonder in take so that new things still seem new. I find fun in the simple things and try not to get caught up in all the stupid day to day crap that lets say my father would dwell on.
This of course doesnt mean that i am not an adult or that i dont care about things.
Everyone is differant and in that effect being differant than what you think is ok as well :)

I'm not really astonished by anything ...

I am amazed by people's stupidity, ignorance & lack of depth ... and they continue on a daily basis completely oblivious. It's like feeding ducks ...
