size, shape, how does it look alike?

a small box about the size of a quarter with a phonejck in it ... and a small phone line a couple of inches long coming out of it ... you plug it in the phone receptacle and then plug ur phone into the box end .. some may have two jacks in the box ... one for the phone the other for the modem ...

Usually a small square box, about 1 inch by 1 inch by 2 or 3 inches with a phone plug at one end and a phone connection at another end. You can also see them as a "plate" that fits between a wall-hung phone and the wall plate.

It's one inch square and 4 inches long with a wire on one end to plug it into the phone jack and a hole in the other end to plug in the DSL line.

Electrically, it filters the higher frequencies used by the DSL modem from the lines which could interfer with normal phone quality. It eliminates all frequencies above those used for normal voice.

there are 2 main types used. One looks like a standard wall plate that you would use to hang a corded phone up on a kitchen wall. the other simply looks like a small beige rectangular device (about 3/4 the size of chapstick) with a female RJ11 telephone connector on one end and a small dongle on the other with a male RJ11 connector and a small length of standard telephone cord.

it is about 3 inches long,it has a phone jack on it and a little box on it.u plug it in2 da wall and da phone so u can call while u r online
