Every six months or so you should bathe your guinea pig. Yes, bathe your cavy! There is special shampoo at any pet store. Make sure to not wash your guinea pig too often, their skin is very delicate.

I used to have a guinea pig and bathed him like once every three months. He loved baths! We used to get the tub about an inch and a half deep with warm water and he would run all over the tub! We used baby shampoo and made sure he was completely dry. We would let him run loose in the living room afterwards, supervised of course!

Use Childrens/Babies shampoo since they seem to be milder. Take a washcloth and wet her with that (warm water) slowly. Then use ONLY A LITTLE shampoo and showly wash it out. My guinea pig hated when I gave her a bath and I haven't tried with my new one.

Well he's going to be scared so you might want to wear gloves or get scratched up! Use guinea pig shampoo!

If i'm not mistaken PetSmart might have shampoo for guinea pigs. They have it for ferrets and I believe hamsters so I don't see why they wouldn't.

Baby shampoo is good, although I have used moisturizing shampoo without any bad side effects.

The real answer though, is your own blood, because if you get your pig near water it WILL claw your face off and dance in the blood.

yup baby bath, and no it wont get sick.
they will only get sick if they are not completely warm and dry when you return it to a outside hutch.
but thats common sense, who'd want to go out side soaking wet in december?
