You could phone a local counseling office and ask. As for depression and social anxiety, the depression creates a negative view of self, thus there will be social anxiety as a result of anticipating rejection. Others actually will reject you if you are rejecting yourself, since they will take your word for it that you are not worthy of love. In reality, however, you are as worthy of love as anyone else--so dispute the self talk that is telling you otherwise.

Well I am not sure for your area what groups r out there but if you contact your local hospital they should be able to provide you with the names of groups in your area.

Mind.org.uk - you should be able to find your local Mind centre thru this site, and they should have details of other local support groups etc.

Go to your primary doc first. I take lorazepam for anxiety and I like it alot. You need to first find out if you have depression or anxiety, and have a medical opinion if you should see a counselor or not.

If your doc isn't supportive, switch to a DO.

Please do this through your local GP, Primary Care Trust, Mental Health Trust or hospital. DON'T sign up to one on the internet. They can end up making you feel much, much worse as everone on there seems to feed on each others misery.
