Slope-intercept formula >>> y = mx + b
First: subtract 10 from both sides (opposite side means opposite sign):
3x + 5y + 10 - 10 = 0 - 10
3x + 5y = -10
Second: subtract 3x from both sides:
3x - 3x + 5y = -3x -10
5y = -3x - 10
Third: solve for "y" by keeping it on one side > divide everything by 5:
5y/5 = -3x/5 - 10/5
y = -3x/5 - 2
*The slope is the number/fraction in front of the "x" variable. SLope = -3x/5. The y-int is the number/fraction after the "x" variable. Y-int = -2
P.S. Math isn't easy-ignore rude and insensitive people that expect you to know this in 1 min :-) Practice, study, seek help, and don't give up!

Solve for y to get it in the form y = mx + b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept.
3x + 5y + 10 = 0
Subtract 3x and subtract 10 from each side
5y = -3x - 10
Divide everything by 5
y = (-3/5)x - 2
m = -3/5 = slope
b = -2, so the y-intercept is (0,-2)

the slope equation is basically upward push/run, superb perfect? superb perfect. so at the same time as wondering about a thanks to outline it. the ideal way is to graph the equation and then use the upward push over run equation to assist parent out the answer. the y-intercept is the position is crosses the y-axis the slope of the first one will be -3 and the y-intercept is 9 the slope of the 2d one assuming the equation is y=3x is a million. for sure i ought to easily be over wondering the finished element.

uhh..
slope is -(3/5) and the intercept is just -2.
How can u not get that? Do u understand what to do? You move all the stuff over to one side until you get y by itself, it take less than 10 secs.

3x+5y+10=0
adding -3x-10
5y=-3x-10
dividing by 5
y=(-3/5)x-2
slope=-3/5 and the y intercept=-2

Rearange the equation to better see each.
3x+5y=-10
5y=-3x-10
y=-(3/5)x-2
Now we can see the slope (-3/5)
And y int (-2)
