You can spray your nose with saline nasal spray. You can gargle with warm salt water. Just keep in mind, that you cannot take cold medication, unless its been okay'd by your doctor. Some over the counter medications like cough medicines, or antihistamines can be harmful to an unborn child.
However, you can take tylonol, regular strength for your aches and pains, and its 100% safe to take during pregnancy.
Some medications can hurt your developing baby. Some symptoms, such as high fever, aren't good for your baby either. So if you catch a cold or the flu, call your doctor to discuss your symptoms and don't take any medication without his or her approval.

You really don't want to mess around with a little one on the way. You may want to call any hospital and speak with the nurse that's on call. But if you can't wait, gargle 4-5 times today with 1 cup of water and a teaspoon of salt ( salt water ). This will help with your soar throat. For your cold, try and drink as much water as you can to flush out your system. It will help move whatever is in your system out and not harm the baby. Hope you feel better!

It's generally recommended that the strongest thing any preganant woman take be Tylenol. Reason being is that you never know how your baby will react. With that said, go as natural as possible. Soar throat: Ricola cough drops work great.. Increase water and OJ to get it out of your system sooner. Humidifier at night with Vicks also works. Hot tea with lemon and honey... all old time home rememdies, I know.. but they work. It's the best way to go until you can speak to a physician.
3 babies later, I'm now used to doing this way still. Hope you feel better!

Im 39wks pregnant and was told by my doctor the only thing safe enough for me to take was paracetomol/tylenol for fever.
I had the flu once and a cold as well not long ago. Keep your fluids up to maintain your hydration levels. Apart from that my doctor would not recommend anything else
- except natural stuff like lemon and honey with tea and OJ for vitamin c.
Cold and flu preperations from the chemist are not recommended because they can contain condeine and
pseudo- ephodrine. Pseudo-ephedrine especially is bad because it can accelerate your heartrate as it is a stimulant. It can also cross the placenta to the baby causing side affects.

Well, my Dr. allowed me to take dimetapp, but that was 12 years ago, things change quickly oner the years, So my recommendation would be to Gargle with warm salt water for your throat, and drink a lot of water, Orange juice if it does not hurt your throat to drink it, as citrus does sometimes. Eat jello it is cool and classified as a liquid. It would be best to wait for your nurse to tell you what is safe. Please rest and feel better soon.

Sucrets throat lozenges are fine and so is Tylenol. You could also drink throat coat tea, and use that throat spray cloriseptic. My doctor said that over the counter cold medications are fine during pregnancy, including benadril and sinutab.

Try taking CHLOR-TRIMETON...it is safe to take during pregnancy. I took this medicine like a month ago when I had a cold, and it helped me out a lot. I also recommend you use a Vicks Vaporizer when you're resting in bed...it totally cleared up my nose. It's so soothing. Get well soon.

I know that my doctor told me that I could take Tylenol for pain or fever and Sudafed for nasal congestion. Stay away from anything with asprin. Better yet... Call your doctor to be sure. What my doctor told me could be way out in left field from what your doctor might suggest.
