Why are there so many negative remarks about Rosie O Donnell?

This is a woman who is so generous and honest that I find it hard to believe that there are so many people out there making degrading comments about her. She is honest and doesn't say things just to make it sound good. All of those celebrity shows you see everyone smiling and saying how much they love each other and how good their movies are, yet half the time it's just promotion.
So here she is being honest about her point of view and opinion and she gets attacked. She gives more money away and helps more people than any celebrity I can think of. Can't we all start concerning ourselves with the important things happening in our world?

I agree that she is being judged because of her sexuality and her weight. I mean there was that kelli rippi "scandel" did everyone need to mention kelli was hetersexual? No, of course not. But EVERYTIME Rosie gets mentioned it isn't usually the comments that gets focused on, it's her weight and being gay.
I don't know---I just find it crazy and wish people would stop trying to FIND something negative to say about her.

No, I am obviously not Rosie....The reason I asked this was because when I came on here every single question I saw was about Rosie and it was like "rosie fat slob" or "rosie gay loud mouth". If people don't like her opinion that's great and okay, but why must everything she does have the tagline "gay and fat?"

Her problem is she is a bad host the minute she stops promoting her guests and starts promoting her one ideas. If you did that when people came over to your house, people would stop coming over to your house. She had no reason to insult Trump's management of the Miss USA problem. He had an underaged drinker and outraged viewers. He found a tempered solution and she felt that it was much ado about nothing. If that is true then she should have kept her mouth shut and let the story die. The same thing goes with the Kelly Ripa thing. You don't come on another person's show and stick your hand over their mouth. She was the regular and Clay Aikens was the guest host. Kelly's comment was a common place responce to what happened. Rosie should have kept her mouth shut about the matter and let that story die too. I have watched the view for years and frankly she is overbearing and obnoxious talking over the other hosts and expressing opinions that like it or not have no value except for the fact that she said them. The fact is she likes to throw stones in glass houses and tip boats she is currently sitting in. I don't care how many good things she does if she does so many bad things then she has to be called to terms on them. Good people do good things for goodness's sake and not so they can lord it over oher people or pretend that they are the moral authority in the world. If ever i could see her have a calm discussion of her opinions, I might say that the criticism is unmerited, but like I said, I have watch the view and her behavior is deplorable. She feels she has to be the center of attention at all times and that is not what that show is about. When she had her own show I enjoyed it but even then she took the opportunity to attack her guest in the form of Tom Selleck. It wasn't a discussion they had but a sniping little insult fest. It may get you ratings but it also gets you criticism.

You want to know why she has so many negative things said about her, this is why.

Also, anyone who opens their mouths and tries to tell others what is right and what is wrong, assuming they are being taken seriously, and she is being taken seriously, should expect everyone who disagrees with that person's views on things to attack them with equally serious responses to what they see is wrong with that person's arguments.

BTW, Yes, I know that people will find some of what I just wrote offensive but I am mature enough to know that at least they are reading this and not just thinking I am typing for the exercise.

PS. The fat slob comment was a quote from Trump on CNN after she said he was a terrible moral compass who has been bankrupt more than once and never paid anyone back what he owed them and has been divorced repeatedly. She made it personal fo he attacked her appearance and chosen lifestyle. That is what they were talking about.

Because she's a big mouth that expresses HER point of view without seeming to care what others point of view might be.
Personally, I don't care if she's gay or not OR how much she contributes (which is, by the way, for her own gain ).
I hope she stuck her foot in her mouth big time by going after Trump, and I hope she pays for it.

Nothing personal, but do you happen to be Rosie? (read what you wrote.... it sounds kinda like her).

By the way....since there ARE more important things in the world to be concerned about, why are you even bothering with this question?

Its probably because people who are writing bad about Rosie don't like her for talking bad about their favorite celebs. There is actually a fued going on between Rosie and Donald Trump. Rosie was making fun of Donald and the Miss USA pagent. Donald countered back calling her fat, and ugly. He also said he would get someone to steal her girlfriend from her. Rosie also said that Donald was once in debt and just recently paid it off. Donald countered back by saying he has at least 5 billion dollars. Donald is taking Rosie to court. (Rosie should not have messed with Donald, when he takes someone to court, he won't stop till he wins!)

Having a honest opinion is one thing but do not judge others peoples lives and then get offended if someone starts talking about homosexuality, I believe she is not doing it just too be honest I believe she loves the controversy. And the comments she made about the chinese was over the top. She needs to be a little more culturally understanding.

I think people don't like her because she attacks people for their opinions. For someone who claims to be so open, she is the most closed minded celebrity in Hollywood. She used to purposely invite people on her show to argue with them if they don't think the same way she does. The door swings both ways sister. Just because you're gay doesn't mean you're open minded.
I do like how much she does for charity, but there is a little something we live by in our society called manners and class, of which she has none. She just has a knack for saying the wrong thing at the wrong time and not keeping her mouth shut when it should be. It almost seems like she does it on purpose for the publicity, but then again maybe she just wasn't taught manners.
There's always freedom of speech, but that doesn't mean you go around saying whatever you want with no regard for anyone else's feelings and opinions whatsoever.

The thing about Rosie is that she doesn't know when to keep her mouth shut. She criticizes almost everybody and that is why people hate her so much! I don't understand why you think she is sweet person when she has the biggest mouth! Believe me if you saw what a big mouth she has you would agree with me too!

are you kidding, she uses her celebrity status as a bully pulpit to promote her own issues and her lifestyle choices. She has no remorse for the people she hurts and she definitely does not take care of herself. I don't give her another six months on "the view" before she again says something that will offend someone and will be asked to leave the show. Being a celebrity does not make you smart, in most cases it just makes you irritating.

rosie is an outspoken, honest, real looking gay woman in a place that thrives on anorexic bimbos without an opinion and good looking men that sleep with these woman. it is also a place where good deeds are done only when the cameras are rolling. i actually find rosie a refreshing change from the socialite bimbos.

She said things about him that had nothing to do with the Miss USA decision he made. She accused him of having affairs, made fun of his hair, etc. Actually, she's giving the View an even blacker eye. I'll bet Star Jones is laughing.
