Peanut Butter Method
If the gum is in a small amount of the hair, just apply peanut butter or all over the area and mix it in until it comes out. Then just take a shower to wash out the peanut butter.
If the gum is spread out, use more peanut butter, or if it is not near your scalp, use ice.
Ice Method
Ice it for about fifteen minutes and it should have hardened enough to just take it off.
Cold Cream Method
Apply cold cream to it. It will disappear quickly.
Vaseline Method
Cover your hair with Vaseline.
Spread the Vaseline around the area of the gum.
Take a wide tooth comb and comb the gum and most of the vaseline out of your hair.

I have found that freezing with ice cubes works well to get the majority out and then you get all the hair with gum in it and you can use oil to get the rest to slide out. Then you use extremely hot water, as hot as you can stand with plenty of dish-soap. That should get it out. Depending on how much gum it is is how long it will take you to get it out. I have used this method many times for kids and adults.

freeze it- the gum not the hair. when it is cold it can be chipped of like ice on your windshield. scissors work but you have to give up length in the affected area. goo gone may work as a solvent but will take all the oils out of the hair. when most of the gum is removed a lice comb will yank out any stragglers.

cutting it is about the best you can do.
I've tried baby oil, peanut butter, plain butter, olive oil, and even a can of air..you know to freeze it and just 'crack' it out.
By the time I was 10, I stopped sleeping with gum in my mouth.

Try using ice on it..if that doesn't work, try peanut butter. The oil in peanut butter helps loosen up the gum.

Peanut butter always seemed to work for my Mom when I got it in my hair. I don't know why... but sometimes it's so bad you do have to cut it. Good Luck!

pb or margarine, anything with a bit of grease to loosen the gum. Baby oil, or any other sort of oil will also work.
