Three good fictional books about the holocaust that are appropriate for someone your sister's age are "Number the Stars," "The Upstairs Room," and "The Devil's Arithmetic." "Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl" is a great nonfictional book. I've included links so that you can learn a bit more about each book.

Anything by Elie Weisel, the Nobel Prize winning Holocaust survivor. That's the beginning of a whole mount of credible information. For the forerunning of the Holocaust, read Hilter's Mein Kampf.

I would say to read Number the Stars. I read it when I was about 11 and I thought that it was an awesome book. It gives you a good sense of th holocaust but it is not hard to understand. It is also and award wining book. hope this helps :)

I would like to add "When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit" to the list.
"The Diary of Anne Frank" deals with Jews that went into hiding.
"Number the Stars" deals with the people who helped Jews escape.
"The Devil's Arithmetic" deals with Jews that went to the concentration camps.
"When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit" is about the Jews who left just before the Holocaust.
"Snow Treasure" is not Holocaust related, but is a book and a movie about some Norwegian children who successfully smuggled gold bullion past Nazis to a boat. True story. Norway's national treasure (tons of gold bullion) was saved that way.

Well, its not 125 pages long but it is a very good book. It is called Night, and it was written by Elie Wiesel. He is a Jewish Person, and he was in Aushwitz, which was in one of the concentration camps. It is basically a real life experience of what happened to him. It is a really good book. 5 out of 5 stars.

The diary of Anne Frank gives a very accurate and personal look at the events that took place during the holocost. It is also from the perspective of a child so is therefore easier for them to understand.
