I tutor for free and I'm in Junior high. I've been tutoring since 7th grade. Now I'm in 8th. I plan on tutoring till i'm out of college and maybe even still when I'm out of college. I plan on tutoring for free too. It will look good on a resume and college application. It will also look appealing to teachers and you may get more tutoring jobs. If you are only doing this because you were asked to then try about 5-10 dollars an hour depending on how long you're going to be tutoring them. Good luck with the tutoring.

$2-3 bucks per hour. I'm a freshman, and if I needed tutoring, I wouldn't want to pay more than about $6 for 2 hours of good tutoring.

Well, if your qualified .... I can only say that 1/3 to 1/2 of what a certified teacher gets would be in the ball park. last I knew they got about 1100.00/ mo which was around 1980 or so. I bet it's up to around 1500.00 now here in Iowa. So.... 500 - 700 a month at 6-8 hours a day.

If the freshman is paying, you'll be lucky to get $3/hour. If the parents are paying, go for $6/hour. If you're babysitting other kids in the house at the same time, $10/hour.

Log the hours in a book and use it as "Community Service" when applying for college, etc. Looks good on a resume, too.

$10 an hour should be sufficient....any more than that, their parents are likely to find a preofessional tutor.......you could also use this as a community service project.
