No, it is highly unlikely that a hurricane can pick someone up. Winds can lift up roofs and flip them off but you have to understand something. There is not a lot of surface on humans. There is not enough to be picked up by hurricane force winds. For example, have you ever carried a board when it was windy? or the next time there are significant wind gusts open your jacket and hold it open to see the difference, it is like a sail. However, what most people do not understand is that the most wind damage done in a hurricane is caused by tornado's. There can be hundreds of tornadoes in a single hurricane. I am sure you know that the wind speeds of a tornado can easily pick you up. If I were you I would not want to find out personally. You will most likely be killed by flying debris first.

Well, since us smart people take shelter when a hurricane is coming on, I would say it doesn't happen often. But if they can pick up a car, then yes, they can pick up a person.

Yes a hurricane can pick a person but the only way it won't is to lay down flat on the ground even if it's raining hard: then it won't pick you up and will pass right above you.
But it will pick you up if you stay in your car. It will pick up your car with you in it. So stop your car, get out and lay flat on the ground in the ditch.

Reason is peole can see when storm starts ,then run to hide .We are usually on flat places protected by towers trees houses etc .So we are not always exposed directly to hurricanes but I think we can be blown away instead of being picked up because of our size and statue [ not tall ]
