Change is the condition upon all things in existence. A thing cannot be a thing and unchanged at the same time. Time, matter, space and energetic state of matter in space all change in time; time that is in fact change observable. And the entire world is a constant transformation in which everything can be any other thing through graduations of constant change in characteristics. A seed for example, eventually transforms into a tree, and then into a yet many other seeds - the characteristics changed but the essence remained the same. There is one essence, but forms are many; there is just one truth, but facts leading up to single truth are many.
In this world of transitions, transformations, and formulations where change is considered to life, the world and everything, what is permanent and constant, is a great question indeed. Check the following link:

Nothing is permanent in this world.
Good or bad, happy or sad, it is just for a while.
Problems here and there but eventually be resolved.
Unresolved problem will translate itself into another problem.
Relationships will end upon death though the fact will remain.
The fact will be forgotten through time.
At this moment in time, I still can't think of anything that is permanent.

I think of the universe like an episode of Leave It To Beaver. Even though the specifics change, the basic plot is still there. Human beings all share the same qualities, they are emotional, and in the heat of the moment, make mistakes that affect other emotional people who also make mistakes, and so forth. We still need approval from others, as you have shown now. We're social animals, and there's no changing that.
I think the types of people in this world are the same as well. We have do-gooders, do-badders, and do-nothings, and they're % never changes. The only exception is with do-nothings, when an event threatens their ability to do-nothing, in which they take action. There have always been criminals, police men, and lazy people, and even though we hear crime is rising, it's always been the same. Humans have universal constants, and in one million years, those personalities and the world will still remain, unchanged as ever.

Actually nothing.
I had a shock at the burying-ground of the clan McRae up on the West coast there. You could read the names on the gravestones back to a certain period, but the older they were, they fainter they were, and nothing before about 1600 was decipherable at all.
So I understood there that "written in stone" means no more than "written in sand". When your tombstone is indecipherable, you have really ceased to exist, or ever to have existed. There is not even a memory left.
Only change is eternal.

Death is alway permanent, as in the people who have died, never come back. And it happens all the time since the beginning of time. Plus the water in our earth is permanent (as either liquid, steam or ice).

Nothing is permanent in this world. The end of life on earth is not very far away.Earth will be become a desert, parched and full of toxic gases. These are all man made havocs and we all will perish one day! So nothing is permanent in this illusionary life and let us not hope for another life.. somewhere out there!

Everything changes.
Death is permanent but depending on your faith, death can mean eternal life, only your body dies, your soul goes to God or elsewhere.
Taxes? It is said Only death and taxes are permanent but maybe taxes will not always be.
Who knows.

Why would you wish for anything to be permanent? Change is what we live and die by, smile and grimace at, look forward to and dread, talk and hear about, expect and be surprised by, and so on.
So in this respect embrace change. And learn to navigate it. You have no choice!
Therefore maybe 'choice', in itself, is the real 'permanent'!
