Tendulkar is probably the more technical batsman but can be prone to rash shots due to his attacking nature and range of strokes.Ponting has a much approached method to batting playing each ball on merit so is more solid and less likely to throw his wicket away.Anyway it doesn't matter cause Lara is better than both of them!

Pointing is good but sachin is legendary. When you compare two players it's not the statistics but many other factors should be considered. Listen to what his rival players say about this batting genius carefully. Pointings are dime a dozen but a player sachin is a rare thing in cricket.

Both are excellent.
In ODI: Sachin scores over Ponting
Test Matches: Ponting scores over Sachin

Both these batsman are classical players so its really hard to compare them but practically speaking i think sachin is better than ricky coz he has his own style of playing which is so much fun to watch when he is in good form

While Ponting is playing better than Tendulkar at present, he cannot be termed as better than Tendulkar as the performance of Ponting in ODI is below par as compared to the performance of Tendulkr.

no ways ricky pointing is better than sachin tendulkar. sachin has won more matches for the team. ask any great bowler and the response from them would be unanimous, "we fear bowling to sachin tendulkar", the great shane warne had said in his interview that he had nightmares of sachin hitting him all over the park.

currently Ponting is the best as Tendulkar had a lot longer career. If Ponting keeps scoring runs at the phenomanal rate he is doing, he will be seen as a hell of a better batsmen

They're both good, but I think Sachin is still the best.

Both are great batsman and unbiased, I'd say there is very little between them but as an Aussie, I have to go for "Punter" by a slight margin.
