The power of reading gives us the ability to expand our knowledge base by retaining what we've read and using it in our everyday lives. Be it fiction, or non, there is always information in the pages to use. It also helps one to be self-sufficient. I've always said if you can read, you can do just about anything on your own including changing your own oil...LOL

reading strengthens our mine and broadens our knowledge of the human mind. When we read, we learn something about a person, the way that a person thinks is the way that they write. Also when we read, we gain imagination. When we read we become the character, it's almost as though we're watching the characters and events through a video camera.

Reading and written language are completely necessary for our civilization to progress. This gives us the ability to pass on what we've learned to others. No one has to go back to square one.

It is one of the tools God has given us so we might grow. Learning how to read and how to question what you've read is a darn good way to thank God for the ability.
