Black smoke is an indication of an engine running very rich. You should have a check engine light on. But anyway, check the normal things like a clogged air filter, or fuel filter. The O2 sensor can be bad, or a malfunctioning catalytic converter. Anything related to the fuel system is suspect right now. Anything that will fool the ECm to think that the engine is running lean and the ecm adds more fuel to the mix. Take the car to a reputable garage for testing and diagnosis. good luck

Black smoke indicates a rich mixture, so it should be a number of things; bad O2 sensor, restricted air intake (filter), leaky injectors...there is no end. Unless you are pretty Injection engine savvy, you should take it to a good mechanic.

Check your oil level on the dipstick. If you have it severely overfull-your pushing it out the PCV valve and into the cylinders and out the exhaust.

Either you need a value job badly or the engine is blown. Get a mechanic to check it for you.
