To give you a really comprehensive answer I would need to
know why.

If for example it is only to do homework then Word would be to
much program. Wordpad, which comes with the windows
operating system, is sufficient.

On the other hand, if they are actually have a class in Word
the teacher should be teaching the subject not the Internet.

Then too, there is the manual and the help files. Children in
grades 4 through 6 are able to read.
