You can definitely address that in your cover letter, however I think it is a good idea to put it in the "objective" of your resume. This is a quick one sentence inidicator to the recruiter for what type of position they should try and place you with.

Make sure it is neat and organized. Use headings; the most common ones are: Objective, Education, Employment. After that, you can add as applicable: Community activities, Awards, Certifications, etc. The objective should be one sentence tailored for the exact job you are applying for. Look in the advertisement for "buzz" words you can use in this sentence to make it sound like a "perfect match" for you. The other categories should list all the important info, like the company/school, city and state, and dates you were there. Under that, use a few neat bullets to describe your job duties. Start each bullet with an action verb - it gives the impression of being a self-starter and all that good stuff. The whole thing should fit on one page if possible. Use classic resume paper (it will make you stand out these days). You can use a semi-fancy font for your header (make sure your cover letter and resume match) with your name, address, phone, and e-mail. Use a plain font (Ariel, Courier, or Times new roman) for the rest of the resume. You do not have to put anything about references on there; it is assumed that they will be available if requested. Make a separate sheet with the same header with 3 business and 3 personal references listed, and have it handy in case it is requested. And last of all, make sure everything is spelled correctly!!!!

This sort of thing is usually put on the cover letter to the resume, not the resume. The cover letter should have a brief description of your education and previous experience, salary requirement, as well as what you are seeking in the new job position or any special skills or achievements. Monster.com offers good advice. I also posted my resume on the website and was contacted by several recruiters who reviewed and helped to improve my resume and cover letter as well.
